Industries are operating in a landscape shaped by constant movement—shifts in markets, changes in workforce arrangements, faster adoption of new technologies, and continuing economic uncertainty. These were the realities that framed the 47th National Conference of Employers (NCE47), organized by the Employers Confederation of the Philippines last May 20, 2026 at the Fiesta Pavilion of The Manila Hotel, under the theme: “Towards a Dynamic, Resilient, and Sustainable Future Amidst a Crisis.”
Representing Calamba Premiere International Park (CPIP) at the conference were President Carlos Po, Admin Head Michaela Nucup, Admin Officer Cindy Maluya, Civil Engineer Crizza Maderazo, Senior Accounting Head Janine Malabanan, Accounting Officer I Laurence Tamondong, General Accounting Staff Irla Suarez, Environmental Relations Department Head Krister Po, Pollution Control Officer Marella Yncierto, Electrical Engineer Harvey Micosa, and Marketing Assistant Bryan Plaza.
Joining the delegation were representatives from several locator partners within the park:
- Air Liquide Pipeline Utility Services: Wen-Chih Liu
- Ambient Quality Resource Inc.: Jose lito De Guzman, Bessie De Guzman, James Kedrick De Guzman, Mark Noel De Guzman, Nikki De Guzman, Ramiro Osorio Jr., Christian Oliver, Jun Abarcar, Rolan Agustin, and Donni Morales
- Coherent Laser Enterprise Philippines Inc.: Cesar Baracinas, Mary Amabelle Batiao, and Jaminica Blanca
- Varex Imaging Philippines Inc.: Debbie Ocampo, Randy Tabio, Wilfredo Torreverde, Armando Carrera Jr., and Marivic Coligado
The program opened with remarks from NCE47 Organizing Committee Chair Enunina Mangio and ECOP President Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr., who set the tone for discussions on workforce changes, economic pressures, sustainability efforts, and the expanding role of technology in day-to-day operations.
Philippine Stock Exchange Chairman Jose Pardo underscored the weight of employer decisions in shaping national direction, noting that “the future of this country is shaped by decisions we make as employers.” Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Christina Roque discussed the agency’s commitment to supporting local enterprises, while SOCIEUX+ Team Leader Dijana Mirvic shared perspectives on labor systems, workforce development, and social protection across different contexts.
Reflections from the Panel Discussions
Across the sessions, recurring themes began to surface—technology adoption, workforce shifts, and operational pressures were being discussed from different angles, but often pointing to the same reality on the ground: industries are adjusting in parallel, not in isolation.
The demonstration of robotic movement during the AI session served as a reference point, but what carried more weight was how quickly the discussion shifted toward real application. For CPIP, this reflected an environment where technology adoption is no longer distant or optional, but already influencing how industries operate on the ground.
Taken together, the panel discussions reinforced what CPIP continues to observe across its locators: change is happening at multiple levels at the same time, and the more immediate focus is on how organizations are aligning their operations within that reality.
Real Connections for a Stronger Industrial Community
The conference extended outside the sessions in the hall. With various industries present in one venue and multiple booths active throughout the day, CPIP moved between formal discussions and more direct exchanges with business leaders and partners across sectors. These conversations often offered as much practical insight as the presentations on stage, delivered in a more immediate setting.
What stood out was the value of these interactions in grounding broader discussions in day-to-day realities. While conditions continue to shift across industries, the steady exchange of perspectives within the community helps keep responses aligned and practical. Through these engagements, CPIP and its partners continue to strengthen coordination and maintain clearer lines of communication amid ongoing operational demands.
