On August 23, 2026, Calamba Premiere International Park (CPIP) hosted a landmark gathering for the city: the 284th Foundation Day of Calamba Fun Run.
Held in celebration of the municipality’s historic establishment, the event welcomed employees from CPIP locator companies alongside runners from neighboring communities for a morning of recreation, wellness, and friendly competition. This marked the first time in a while CPIP hosted a large-scale event open to both the park’s internal workforce and the wider public.
Organized by Dalagan Endurance Philippines in partnership with the Calamba Municipal Office, Calamba City Tourism Office, and CPIP, the morning featured 3K, 5K, and 10K race categories designed for participants of all athletic backgrounds.
On the Course
Participants began arriving before sunrise, with company groups from CPIP joining runners from surrounding communities. The starting area is filled with employees running with colleagues, groups taking on the course together, and individuals looking for a good way to spend their Sunday morning.
Once the race started, CPIP’s roads became a shared space for everyone on the course. People who work within the park ran alongside those who live in nearby communities, giving both groups the opportunity to experience CPIP in a different setting.
A Celebration of the Past and the Present
The event traces Calamba’s beginnings as a town 284 years ago. This year’s Fun Run offered an opportunity to look at how much the community has grown since then.
From its historical beginnings, Calamba has developed into a major industrial and business center in Laguna. The growth of its industries, businesses, and communities has changed the city’s landscape—and CPIP has been part of that development.
Holding the Fun Run within the park connected those two parts of the celebration. A date rooted in Calamba’s history was marked in a setting that represents part of its present-day economic growth, with participants coming from both within CPIP and the communities around it.
At the Finish Line
The race concluded with participants receiving event giveaways and gathering for the post-run activities. The top three male and female finishers in the 3K, 5K, and 10K categories were also recognized and awarded for their performances.
The event was made possible with the support of Fitbar, RFM Corporation, Enchanted Kingdom, Converge ICT Solutions Inc., and CPIP locator Oerlikon Balzers Coating Philippines Inc., together with the organizers and event teams who worked throughout the activity.

Calamba’s 284-year journey is a story of growth and development. The Fun Run offered a glimpse of that journey today, bringing together people from CPIP and the surrounding communities on one course. Each runner had a different pace, a different distance, and a different reason for joining, but everyone was moving forward.
That, in many ways, reflects Calamba’s own progress. Its communities, businesses, industries, and institutions may each move at their own pace and take different paths, but they remain part of the same journey. For CPIP, its locators, and the communities around it, that journey points in one direction: forward.
